Rotas
I will be doing the new rotas during August - we have rotas for Young Worshipper teachers and helpers, crèche, readers, intercessors and welcomers. Please let me know if you are unable to carry on in any capacity, or would like to volunteer for any of the tasks. Vicarage and Garden
The vicarage and vicarage garden have now been sold to Servite Houses and we no longer have access to them. Please could you tell your children that they are not allowed to play in the vicarage garden. Thankyou.
Preparation for First Communion
We will be starting First Communion preparation lessons in September and October on Saturday mornings. Dates will be announced shortly.
Newsletter editor required
The Southfields Grid Residents Association urgently needs someone to edit the newsletter that is distributed to the Grid three times a year. If you can help in any way please contact Mike Caswell on 8874 6715 or at mike@mcaswell3.fsnet.co.uk.
New Testament Book Club - autumn dates
We will be running a New Testament Book Club in the autumn. Two dates for your diary : 16th September - Letter to the Hebrews 14th October - Letter of Jude Meetings will start at 8.00 pm at 144 Elsenham Street. All welcome.
Rainbow Children in July/August
The Young Worshipper groups have now finished for the summer, but we will be making provision for the children to come out of the service for some fun activities. Extra help may be required today. If you are able lead or help with the childrens’ activities during the coming weeks, please would you indicate which week(s) you are available on the list at the back of church, either as a leader or helper. Thank you.
Welcomers
One of the key jobs at St Barnabas is that of Welcomer. We are really grateful to everyone who has been helping with this and are looking for more volunteers. Please have a word with Ian, Andy or Margaret for details and sign up on the sheet at the back.

Barnabas Youth Club (Parents & Members)
On Saturday, 6th September between 11 and 12 noon, there will be an opportunity for 8 children from the Youth Club (School Year 6 and above) to do an hour’s canoeing on Wimbledon Park Lake. Cost is £6.50 per person. If you are interested, parents/guardians will need to complete the St Barnabas Youth Club form in the tray at the side of the church. 07 Sep 2008 Dr Peta Dunstan
On 7th September we welcome Dr Peta Dunstan, who will preach the first of our annual Henry Scott Holland sermons on the subject of ‘Being a liberal catholic Anglican in the 21st century’. Dr Dunstan is a Fellow of St Edmunds College, Cambridge, and runs the University’s Divinity faculty library. Dr Dunstan is a church historian with a particular interest in Anglican religious communities.
